A Job Well Done- Some Quality Metrics

In September 2022 Sandaig Engineering celebrated their 4th birthday, Happy Birthday to us!

In October 2018 we were awarded our first contract. This was with Apache Corporation North Sea with a scope to review the QA/QC and HSE processes throughout the full supply chain lifecycle and manage day to day QA/QC activities.

Fast forward four years, we still support Apache and have a long-term Master Service Agreement with them. See below for some metrics, highlights and achievements.

Many thanks to the forward-looking folks at Apache who believed in us and took a chance.

OWGP business transformation support reaps results.

Sandaig Engineering took part in the WEST business programme which sought to prepare organisations for transition into the growing offshore wind sector. This support was bespoke and needs led, helping businesses understand the offshore wind market and enter with confidence. OWGP undertook a Case Study of Sandaig Engineering which provides other organisations with an understanding of the services provided. Please follow the link below to view.

Sandaig Engineering announce first Offshore Wind Contract

Sandaig Engineering are excited to have won our first renewables contract. We will be providing consultancy services to Kinetic Renewable Services and look forward to working with Laura Mackie.

In 2018 when we first set up the Sandaig Engineering the energy transition was well underway and moving into the renewables sector was high on our agenda. Thankfully there is much support out there for SME’s and we have worked with Lynne McIntosh-GrieveOffshore Renewable Energy Catapult ,  Paul O’Brien @deepwind , Sharon ChanXodus.

As the energy transition accelerates we know the synergies between oil and gas and offshore wind will create great opportunities across the North East. Onwards and upwards! #offshorewind#energytransition#renewables

Sandaig Engineering Presenting at SDI DTI Technical Workshop

Sandaig Engineering are pleased to be presenting at the Engineering, Procurement, Contracting and Management of Offshore Wind Projects technical workshop event organised by Scottish Development International, Department of Trade and Industry and Polish International Wind Farm Society. This event takes place on the 15th June 2021.

The workshop explores the different approaches to engineering, procurement, contracting and management of offshore wind projects and the risks associated with EPC, EPCM and multi-contracting.

During this workshop, we will try to address some of those topics, UK experience and commercial offer in offshore wind are rich and diverse, throughout all project development phases: consenting (permitting processes), development (feasibility and seabed studies), construction (cable, substations, towers, blades, and foundations) up to operation and maintenance.

Robbie Owen Principal Consultant from Sandaig Engineering will present the Case Study: “Gap analysis and roll out of a service and product based QA/QC system for a major energy operator”.

Quality- Driving Efficiencies in the Offshore Wind Sector

The UK Government’s post Covid Build Back Better initiative will aim to accelerate the transition to net zero. The Offshore Wind Sector is looking strong in Scotland by pushing the boundaries in terms of reducing costs while innovating new technologies and Quality plays an integral part in this. We know that learning from the oil and gas industry has helped accelerate floating offshore wind development and cut costs. (https://www.windpowermonthly.com/article/1665801/oil-gas-sectors-lessons-floating-offshore-wind).

Sandaig Engineering delivers industry best practice in management systems and strategic quality programmes within the energy sector supply chain. We have experience of delivering consultancy and operational support for Oil and Gas operators and Tier one Contractors where there has been a large focus on defining service criticality, supplier assessment and supplier auditing.

However, here at Sandaig Engineering, we believe our approach to QA and QC consultancy services in the Oil ang Gas industry can be equally applied to the Offshore Wind Sector. Our specialist knowledge has been developed from years of experience of helping companies get it right first time to reduce expensive outages and downtime. This approach strengthens supply chains and drives up performance.

At Sandaig Engineering we can work with clients from the early-stage development to provide QA/QC support through the full supply chain cycle from tendering to installation and can cover all major commodities. This ensures a culture of quality is built into the organisation, adding value and getting it right first time which in turn drives up efficiencies placing our customers at the top of their game.

Services can include:

  • Gap analysis on engineering, projects, supply chain and operations processes and management systems
  • Implementing engineering and supply chain processes either in isolation or as part of a full management system
  • Managing the QA and HSE portions of major supplier evaluation and ITT processes
  • Vendor technical and management system auditing
  • Management of inspection and test plans and vendor/third party inspection programs
  • Root cause analysis
  • Implementing and managing NCR processes

If you would like to hear more about our services and discuss any matter we would love to hear from.
